|2019 Capacity Builder's Conference: Facing Power and Privilege in Capacity Building|
2019 Conference a Wrap!
On October 23-25, 2019, nearly 200 capacity builders from across the U.S. descended under the St. Louis Arch (literally! our hotel was in its shadow!) for the Alliance’s 2019 annual conference to learn more about facing power and privilege in capacity building.
Days were filled with incredibly informative workshops, powerful plenary lunches, serious panel discussions, and thought-provoking site visits to four high-impact St. Louis nonprofits. Infused throughout were copious amounts of networking, great food, and discussion.
There was the hokey-pokey. There were poems. There was a mini-food truck rally. There was a silly headband. There were role plays with purple hats. But most importantly in St. Louis, collaborations sprouted. Friendships kindled. Perspective shifted. Participants grew. And this is what Alliance conferences are all about.
