Affinity Groups are a great way to engage in our shared work and build community! Our Read 2019 updates from a few of our groups below, and read more about the remaining groups on the Affinity Groups page!
Governance Affinity Group
The group is seeking new members to join! Please consider engaging with the affinity group on one of the following projects:
Capacity-builder tools- Developing a Racial Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Governance Research to Practice capacity-builder tool and video.
Consultant Governance Practices Survey – The group is developing a consultant/capacity builder survey to explore what they are championing as “best governance practices’, and upon what research or evidence they perceive those practices to be are based. The group hopes to launch it this February.
Webinar Series- Designing a governance research to practice/practice to research webinar series. Our plan is to have co-presenters - a governance researcher with a consultant who will focus on practice implications of the research.
Exchange of tools, challenges, new ideas – The group is working to set up a system to better exchange resources, peer exchange, problem-solving with each other.
Executive Transition and Leadership Continuity (ELTC) Affinity Group
Interested in ELTC? At our Fall conference and later validated through a group interest survey, we've identified the following activities as priorities for 2019:
Creating a community practice - we're not sure what this means yet, but a group of volunteers will be meeting online in January to make initial plans for exploration and creation. We're expecting that we'll have some immediate ways to engage as well as longer-term development opportunities.
Continuing the ET Refresh work - finding terms and ways to communicate it accessibly and attractively, seeking funding, and developing ways to effect thinking on leadership continuity. A volunteer has been meeting on this already and will meet again in January.
