Interim CEOs offer critical leadership to help nonprofits build their capacity in a transition. In addition to providing a bridge to leadership during an executive transition, interims set the stage for success for the new executive and the organization. Interims can be called on to…

·      Provide an important timeout following a charismatic or controversial leader

·      Guide organizations through a turnaround

·      Stabilize organizations that experienced traumatic departure

The role of the interim is as much about transformation as it is good executive leadership. Today, interim executive leadership represents both a specialty practice for nonprofit consultants as well as a new work-life balance option for seasoned career nonprofit leaders.

Interim work is a specialty that shouldn’t be jumped into blindly.

Are you cut out to be an interim? The best interims are seasoned leaders with the experience and confidence to jump into ambiguous situations. They are consultants whose first impulse is to understand, serve, and guide.

Have you been an interim executive and would like an opportunity to reflect on this work? Many of us have stepped into an interim role, willing to help out a nonprofit whose executive left without a succession plan. Perhaps you found that you liked it and took on another interim assignment. Come learn about the fundamentals of interim work and its relationship to the field of executive transition.

Invest 90 minutes a week for four weeks and discover the secrets for success. Interim executive leadership is a craft with its own ethos, best practices, tools and approaches. This workshop will cover lessons learned from nearly two decades of experience across thousands of successful (and some not so successful) transformational interim executive assignments. Completing the four sessions will add value to your toolbox and entitle you to put this training on your resume.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

·      The role of interim as a transformational capacity builder.

·      Best practices for preparing an organization during executive transition.

·      A step-by-step approach for completing a successful interim assignment.

You’ll learn from the national thought leaders with decades of on-the-ground experience
