This webinar will offer time for affinity group members to reflect on the assessment and onboarding phases, common to both Interim Engagements and Executive Searches, through the following lenses:

       What turnaround research tells us about making these phases most effective

       Does assessment ever end?

       Length of time to implement changes indicated by assessment(s) & how to coordinate with successor executive to complete implementation

       Practitioner communication, coordination and teamwork with organizational leadership team

 

Based on original research from 111 case studies of struggling nonprofits, in 2010, Jan Glick, published Nonprofit Turnaround: A Guide for Nonprofit Leaders, Consultants and Funders. Glick’s perspective on the intersection of nonprofit struggles and executive transition is unique, in that he has guided nonprofit turnarounds in four different roles, as a permanent ED, an interim ED, a consultant, and a manager/advisor interim EDs.  Jan has also facilitated over 25 ED and CEO transitions.

 

About the presenter and facilitator:

Jan Glick is a past co-chair of the ETLC Affinity Group. Jan has devoted more than 25 years to refining a model approach to facilitate performance improvement for nonprofits and government agencies. Jan specializes in executive leadership transitions, development and coaching, strategic and business planning, and organizational restructuring and mergers.

Since founding Jan Glick & Associates in 1996, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the organizational performance of hundreds of clients in the nonprofit and government sectors. He has strengthened ineffective programs and departments, developed new programs and partnerships, and created lasting change and performance improvement for organizations in distress. Jan’s methods help clients address, and subsequently resolve, deep-rooted organizational issues that influence decision-making and impede success.  Jan is also the Managing Community Partner for the Third Sector Company in the Pacific Northwest.
